Cooper County Memorial Hospital
August 9th, 2010Posted by: Cliffy132
Has anyone else been receiving backdated bills from Cooper County Memorial Hospital? I have received several of these dated as far back as 2007. When I call the number it is a third party billing person contracted by CCMH. When I spoke with them and asked for an itemized bill so I could check with my insurance company to see if I truly owe this money they were very rude. These bills came with an amount due but no date of service or any explanation. I don’t feel I requested anything out of the ordinary from them.
I wonder why our local hospital cannot bill us in house. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and what action they have taken. I would appreciate any advice!

How Do You Feel About Suddenlink Cable?
June 23rd, 2010Posted by :Matt
Are you as tired of the crappy cable T.V. here in Boonville as I am? Is this is a joke? Take off KCTV 5 and put on KNLJ out of Jeff City and raise the rates 5%. KCTV 5 was out of Kansas City and I used it to track weather coming from the west toward our area. This week Channel 17 had zero volume for a day and a half, Channel 9 just plain sucks for a picture. Channel 5 is out of polarity and keeps “Dropping Out”. Channel 19 should just be turned off, you cant get a good picture ever! When you get volume it is all over the place, from one channel to another the volume blasts or is almost mute. How many times have you gone without sound on a channel all weekend? Time and time again? Do they have anyone watching their own channels and checking to see what is going on? Or are they all at home watching on Dish Network or Direct T.V. ? What do you think? I can tell from the poll that most of you are unhappy. Let us know what you think.
coupons from the internet
June 23rd, 2010Posted by: bubblegum
Can someone explain why the local stores do not want to except coupons printed from the internet? And the common response of, “because of the fraud possibility”, will not work. No matter what we do, fraud is a daily possibility. The Wal-Mart stores in Columbia do take these, and with the money I save using them there, it covers the tax and my gas to go there. If the merchants in Boonville want to keep the public here to shop, make it worth our time. I would much rather put my money in the community that I live, but, my money is spent where I can save the most.
FREE lunch, all summer, for hungry kids
June 16th, 2010Posted by: Sharoninthemorning
CCBC is heading up a great summer program, administered by MO Dept. of Health and Senior Services, to make sure kids don’t go hungry while school is out. Any kid 18 and under can come eat, plus young adults 19-21 who are mentally or physically handicapped and take part in an educational program. There’s no signup or questions asked – the only requirement is that the meals are eaten right there. Four sites offer food every weekday: CCBC from 12:30-1:30, New Hope Christian Church and Lions Park from noon t 1 pm., and the Boonslick Heartland YMCA 11:45-12:45.
MORE SITES ARE NEEDED, both in Boonville and out in the county, to put lunch within walking distance for more kids. Call CCBC at 882-7106 or Maurice Miles at 660-833-7742 if you have a site that might work. All meals are prepared at the CCBC building kitchen and they could use some volunteers to make the meals as more kids come in.
