Hannah Cole BHS Traffic Jam

I was not able to attend the informational meeting last week at the ADMIN building regarding the traffic flow on 5 Highway this fall. Did anyone attend this meeting? I thought there would be publication in the BDN, no such luck as of yet. What are they proposing at this time?

If you’ve driven this stretch of Highway 5 in the morning, you’ll find a back up down to GAPS when there’s something big going on, or if weather conditions are not favorable. Has MODOT offered any suggestions on the flow from I-70? Just yesterday when I exited I-70 to head north on Hwy 5, there were 4 semi’s waiting to make left turns, which caused all other traffic to back up on I-70. They could not make left turns due to the number of vehicles heading northbound(most turned in at the school drive).

With Pilot and Loves, the semi’s aren’t going to disappear. Staggering start times will not change the amount of I-70 traffic that currently comes into Boonville.

Can anyone shed any light on this topic? Will they have any additional meetings for public to attend? Has it already been decided as to how they’re going to handle this congestion?
