I’m not a fan. I can listen to Carrie Underwood on KCLR. If I was in the house 1370 was on the radio. Not any longer. Sorry. But we still listen in the mornings.

I have switched radio stations. You can get the new country format on several Columbia stations. PLEASE go back to the classic country. You have more older faithful listeners than young ones in Cooper and Howard County. I’ll be check in occasionally to see if you have come to your senses.

I have grown to love your new format! Also I like the news headlines at the top of the hour! Keep up the good work!

Ok, Ok, I am here to admit the new format has finally won me over. I have heard some new (to me) songs that I really like and a bunch from 10 or 20 years ago I enjoy. Two times I have even heard a classic oldie from a long time ago that I hadn’t heard for a long time. I will admit the old format played a lot of the songs over & over throughout the night. Keep up the good work!

Sara Evans songs should stay right where they are at not change a thing wonderful singer like you true country format

As much as I am proud that Sara EVans is from my hometown(New Franklin), I must say her songs don’t appeal to me (modern Country). I would rather her to re-release some of the classic songs as other artist have done. She writes many of her songs but why can’t she try writing a new song from the classic era? Betcha she would have a hit or two.
Back when I was very young I enjoyed slow classic country music cause it made dancing with a beautiful girl last so much LONGER! OH for the olden, golden classic days!!

For those who still miss the old format check out this link. If you have capability to listen online it’s a station in Dallas that plays the classic country format KWRT used to play. Just click the listen live button.

I have grown to like KWRT’s new format, but thought I’d share this to help out those who would occasionally like to listen to the classic country.

I’m a 60 year old and yesterday was the first time I had a chance to listen to your new country format for an extended period = pretty much nonstop from 10:30 am till 5:30 pm while I was working on a project in my shop. I found it much more enjoyable than the old ‘classic’ format, mainly because; 1) there is a mix of new & older music, and 2) the old format played the same old songs, over and over and over and over and over and over. I used to listen only from 6:00am till 10:00am and then switch to another station just to keep from being bored to tears. I think now I will stay with KWRT all the time except to switch once an hour or so to catch the weather. I do have a suggestion though; maybe have someone do the weather at least once an hour from say 10am till 5pm. Also it would be nice if from time to time the “True Country” folks could play some really, really old country like the beginnings of bluegrass era (they might already do this & I just haven’t happened to hear it yet???). Anyway, keep up the good work = I enjoy most all the changes you have made, and especially like the Friday “Keeping Good Company” segments.
Thanks

I used to brag to people that we had an unique radio station that played the classic hits of country music 24 hours a day and got a lot of them switched to KWRT. Now KWRT is not much different than KCLR 99.3 in Columbia. Dane does an excellent job in the morning and I really enjoy listening to him, he puts his heart and soul into his job and it shows.

KWRT is and always will be my favorite radio station so of course I will continue to listen. I did like the Classic Country better however and used to leave it on all night too. I would listen and drift right off to sleep. Now I have to turn it off or one of the fast paced new songs will jar me awake.
All in all everyone at KWRT does a super job and I like Robin’s giggle!

I am a younger listener, and generally prefer the new country to the old, but I kinda liked when you had the Classic Country format. There are numerous options on the FM dial to listen to the new country, but when I wanted something different I could turn you on and hear the classics.
Another thing to consider is that most of your listeners are in the older generation and would probably prefer the classics.

I just want to say that KWRT certainly wishes that we could fulfill everyones requests of what they would like us to be. Boy wouldn’t that be great! But as you know that is just not possible. Our goal is to please as many of our listeners as possible which is why we always go with the majority. The majority of our listeners were ready for a more updated afternoon format. I understand the thoughts of many of you who think that “Modern Country Music” is NOT Country Music. It has definitely taken on a new sound throughout the years. I am 44 years old and grew up listening with my parents to Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson and many, many more. I LOVE Classic Country Music. BUT I also love alot of the newer music as well. Do I like ALL of it? Absolutely not…..as I am sure you didn’t like every song that was played on the “Classic Country” Format. Maybe the new afternoon format isn’t your #1 choice, But I’m sure if you keep listening you will hear some classics that you enjoy and who knows… maybe even hear a new one that will get your toes tapping!
We certainly hope you will continue to listen to our morning program as we strive to keep you informed of all the latest news and happenings in the Boonslick Area and hopefully can entertain and give you a few chuckles in the process!
Thank you for being a loyal KWRT listener and don’t ever think that we aren’t listening to you! We are always listening even though its not always feasible to make some of the changes that you request. We ALWAYS appreciate your taking the time to let us know how you feel!
Continue to “Keep Good Company” with 1370 KWRT!!
Sincerely,
Robin Billings

I’ve been listening and really like it. Frankly, the “Classic Country” was getting stale.

I am a fan of the traditional classic country. The “True Country” is just the same as the others in the listening area. Yeah, Marty might be tiresome at times, but you would hear real country music. I too, like change, but this was better left alone.
Thanks

I agree totally with RogerThat in that you are doing a great job. I too listen to KWRT all day and consider myself in the Middle Age group of listeners. I too brag on KWRT to my friends and family about the info, news, and sports that you supply to our Wonderful Community. I agree that KWRT was the only station around that supplied that type of Country Classic Music entertainment. I grew up listening to most of those country classics with 2 older sisters and a Mom that listened to that type of music also. I work in a facility that limits what can be brought into work, including food, purses, etc, so feel lucky that I can listen to your station. I have found myself in the last 2 days turning the station volume down, as some of the songs are too loud and modern for the environment that I work in. The prior easy listening classics were calming, soothing and easy to listen to all day, and helped me get thru an 8 hour day with less stress. I found myself in the car making sure that your station was always on there too, as it was an easier listening station as opposed to the more modern “junk” songs that you do hear on other stations. I agree that you have lost your niche in the type of music that your station did offer before this week. Thanks for letting me comment, keep up the good work, and I would prefer more Classic Country Songs to listen to on a daily basis.

First I’d like to say you all are doing a great job! I listen to KWRT all day and am in your younger generation of listeners. I brag on KWRT to my friends about the great classic country you use to play. The only station around that you can find it on. One of a kind.
Now (as far as the music goes) it’s just another modern country station. This change is not for me but I know I’m not the only listener. There are already a huge amount of FM/AM stations out there that already play modern country. I think you’ve lost your niche. Go ahead and mix it up but don’t loose the Classics. There are too many “junk” modern songs that I’ve never heard of before and not enough classic country. Anyway thanks for allowing feedback and keep up the good work Dano!
