Thanks to Dept. of Conservation Officer Chris Doran for giving us the details about Kids Fishing Day, sponsored by the Boonville Kiwanis. Come out to the city lake behind Dave’s Country Market anytime between 8 a.m. and noon. Enjoy a soda from Dave’s Country Market and hot dogs cooked by Cooper Lodge #36. Stan’s MFA is providing the worms (not to eat!) to bait your hook or bring your own lures. Dept. of Conservation will have about 50 poles available, but bring your own if you have one. It’s free fishing weekend all around the state, so no fishing license is needed for this event – or fishing anywhere else, for that matter! (Limits still need to be observed). For Kids Day, the lake is stocked with bluegill, catfish and crappie. Come on out!

Black female Chow answering to “Fuzzy” missing from the Clarks Fork area. She is 10 years old and disappeared with my other dog last Saturday. The other dog came home Wednesday, minus her collar and chain. If anyone has seen her, please call me at 882-9061. Given how long she was gone, I think they travelled a bit away from our area. Thank you.

I am not sure if this is the place for this, so please let me know….I have lost my 2 dogs in the Prairie Lick Rd area. 1 Yellow lab, 13 yrs old, Sam. He does not hear well. He would be with a medium size part black lab and dalmation, Little girl is her name, but she usually runs from other people. She is about 13 yrs old. I have had both of these dogs since their birth and they are missed very much! They have been gone since Sun, May 16th. If anyone has seen them or might know what happen to them I would really appreciate and email…..zellertj@yahoo.com.
Thank you

Last Saturday I participated (or thought I was participating) in the canned food drive put on by the post office. I put 3 bags of canned goods out by the mail box at 7:45 am only to find them at 4:00 pm still sitting there. Monday I called the post office and was told somebody would come and pick them up and as of yet nobody has showed up. I am pretty disgusted. Thanks

The Relay For Life has been wonderful for this area. I was part of one of the original 8 teams that started this in 1997. This started out as an outside event where we could walk/run all night long, and enjoy the experience and the evening and overnight with all others there. We, who battle cancer, don’t mind a little inclement weather = there were times over the years we walked when it was awful close to 30 degrees overnight, and also in the rain. My “gripe”, if you will, is that over the years this event keeps moving from the Cooper County Fairgrounds to inside at the YMCA whenever it is “suspected” that it might rain. Folks, we cancer battlers and survivors don’t mind a little rain and even cold or snow = heck it beats the alternative of not being here. I sure would think that the organizers of this could put up with a little rain, but if not, and they want to move it indoors, what is wrong with the buildings at the fairgrounds???? That way if it turned out to be a beautiful evening, like today 4/23/10, people could still enjoy the original concept & experience of this great event, rather than being inside where you cannot hear what is going on and walking around and around that gym, which is, must I say it, stupid (waste of my time, since with cancer I’m not sure how much time I have left, and walking around inside a very very noisy gym is not my idea of quality time). This event needs to be outside, in the fresh air, under the stars or clouds, good weather or bad, and if the forecast is for bad = move it inside at the Fairgrounds!, that way if there is a break in the weather we can at least go outside and make it an event like it was intended to be.
Thanks
