How Do You Feel About Suddenlink Cable?

Monday, March 21st, 2011

This is an old post but we had a request to republish it……

Are you as tired of the crappy cable T.V. here in Boonville as I am? Is this is a joke? Take off KCTV 5 and put on KNLJ out of Jeff City and raise the rates 5%. KCTV 5 was out of Kansas City and I used it to track weather coming from the west toward our area. This week Channel 17 had zero volume for a day and a half, Channel 9 just plain sucks for a picture. Channel 5 is out of polarity and keeps “Dropping Out”. Channel 19 should just be turned off, you cant get a good picture ever! When you get volume it is all over the place, from one channel to another the volume blasts or is almost mute. How many times have you gone without sound on a channel all weekend? Time and time again? Do they have anyone watching their own channels and checking to see what is going on? Or are they all at home watching on Dish Network or Direct T.V. ? What do you think? I can tell from the poll that most of you are unhappy. Let us know what you think.

Thanks to The Boonville Street Crews!

I was outside shoveling snow this weekend and the Boonville City workers were out in my neighborhood numerous times clearing the streets. I know they must have missed holiday time with their families so I just wanted to say Thank You!! Keep up the GREAT work! The streets are in great shape today thanks to all of your hard work!

Keeping Good Company – June 19, 2009

I just wanted people to know on June 19th Bobby Welliver was on Keeping Good Company. Bobby has been with the City of Boonville for 24 years and has earned the title of Lieutenat . I just feel that since he was introduced as Officer Bobby Welliver someone should have noted this to Dane. I am sure that it was not intentional or out of any disrespect, but I feel that he has earned that title as should be addressed as so.

Party Line

I am very disappointed that they are not going to have party line on Saturday. For the people who work m-f it isn’t fair. I know I looked forward to party line on Saturday. I just think it isn’t right for the working people. Also 1 person called in and said they hoped they stopped the classic country. I am only 45 and I look forward to listening to it. My parents also like it too as well as others.

Suddenlink cable

We recently bought a new HDTV. We already had Suddenlink cable and in the process of them coming out to check the new TV, we found out they do not support high-definition. In further questioning we found out they have no intention of ever supporting high-def. Several of our friends who have Suddenlink and have HDTVs did not even know they weren’t receiving the high-def quality. So we switched to satellite.

Approximately 3 years ago some one threw a kitten out the window of a car, obviously he was unwanted. Fortunately he was not injured. I adopted this kitten from the Boonville Animal Shelter and he has brought so much joy to my life. If you are thinking of a pet for a Christmas gift, think of shelters first, as these animals are in need the most of a good home. I have not regretted once of adopting a pet from a shelter. BEV HUNT

THINKING OF BOONVILLE

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Today as I was standing on Main Street I observed a woman riding in the back seat of an automobile. As they stopped I ask her if she was feeling all right, cause she had her head hanging out. She stated we are from out of town. We pass through Boonville often and as we come up Main Street if the wind is blowing right I can smell the wonderful fresh bread. It makes me happy she stated. So I thought about it to myself and she was right, reminds me of grandparents, parents, aunts and family gatherings from loved ones passed. Makes you think how much you miss them, but how lucky you were to lived a life with them. A smile, an tear appears at the same time. I am blessed to live in Boonville and be around people that make you smile everyday. Thanks to everyone that waves at me in the morning and afternoons.

$700bn Bail Out Proposal

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

I was watching CBS last night and heard of this garbage.

What do you guys think about the $700bn bail out that the government is trying to enforce. What Bush and others are trying to do is purchase $700bn worth of “toxic” stocks floating around on Wall Street thats corrupting the economy. All this is going to do in my opinion is put the US in what 12 trillion dollars worth of debt now? How is pumping all this money into some toxic stocks going to help the US. I think it will just be a benefit to Wall Street and no the entire US. Anyone else have any input on this?
